SEO content writing means writing text that ranks in Google and still reads like a human wrote it for a human. Those two goals used to pull against each other, which is why the internet filled up with pages that repeated the same phrase forty times. That does not work any more. What works now is writing the genuinely useful answer to a real question, then making sure the page is built so Google can tell what it is about.
Keywords, without the mystery
A keyword is just what somebody types into Google. There are two kinds worth knowing about.
Head terms are short and popular. Something like social media agency. Lots of people search them, and so does every competitor you have, which makes them very hard to rank for when your site is new.
Long tail terms are longer and more specific. How much does a dentist pay for Facebook ads. Far fewer people search that, but the ones who do know exactly what they want, and you can realistically rank for it. For a small business, long tail is where the winnable traffic is.
Being honest about this: exact search volumes and difficulty scores need a tool like Google Keyword Planner or Ahrefs. Anyone quoting you precise numbers without one is guessing. What we can do reliably is identify the questions your customers ask and write the best answer on the internet to each one.
What goes into a page that ranks
One clear subject
One page, one question answered properly. Pages that try to cover five topics rank for none of them.
Title and meta description
The blue line and the grey text in Google. These decide whether anybody clicks, and they are missing or duplicated on most small business sites.
Proper heading structure
One H1, then H2s and H3s that follow a logical order. This is how Google reads the shape of your page.
Internal links
Pages linking to related pages on your own site. It helps readers and it spreads ranking strength around.
Answers, not padding
Say the useful thing early. Long introductions that delay the answer lose readers, and losing readers loses rankings.
How long should a page be?
Long enough to answer the question completely and not one word longer. Two thousand words of padding will not beat eight hundred words that actually answer what was asked.
The useful test is whether somebody who came with that question leaves satisfied. If yes, the page is the right length.
Common questions
How long until SEO writing brings traffic?
Three to six months is realistic for a new site, longer for competitive terms. Anybody promising page one in thirty days is either targeting terms nobody searches or is not telling you the truth.
Do you use AI to write?
We use AI as a tool, the way a designer uses a computer, but every page is directed, edited and fact checked by a person. Text that is generated and published unread is obvious to read and it does not rank.
Can you write for my industry?
Usually, after we ask you a lot of questions. The specialist knowledge lives with you. Our job is turning it into something clear.
Is blogging still worth it?
Yes, if the posts answer real questions. A blog full of company news helps nobody. A blog that answers the questions customers ask before buying works for years.
