Free Social Media Audit: What It Checks and Why It Comes First

A social media audit is an honest look at your accounts before anybody spends money. We go through your profiles, your posts and your ad account if you have one, and we come back with three things: what is already working, what is quietly wasting money, and the few changes worth making first. It is the first thing we do with every new client, and we do not charge for it. Not as a sales trick, but because guessing is expensive and we would rather know what we are dealing with.

What we actually look at

Your profile itself

Whether somebody landing on your page in five seconds understands what you sell, where you are, and how to contact you. This sounds basic and it is wrong on most accounts we see.

What your posts are doing

Which posts got real engagement and which got polite silence. Usually a clear pattern appears once you line them up, and it is rarely the pattern the owner expected.

Posting rhythm

Gaps matter. An account that goes quiet for six weeks then posts nine times in a day reads as abandoned to anybody checking you out before buying.

Your ad account

If you have run ads, this is where we usually find the money. Campaigns left running, audiences that overlap and compete with each other, no negative keywords, creatives that stopped working months ago.

Your competitors

What businesses like yours are posting, what is clearly working for them, and where there is a gap you could own.

What you receive

A short document in plain English. Not forty pages of charts. It says what we found, what we would fix first, second and third, and roughly what each fix involves.

You can take that and do it yourself. Genuinely. Plenty of people do, and that is fine. If you would rather we handled it, the audit becomes the plan we work from.

Why it comes before anything else

Most agencies start by selling you a package. Six posts a week, two reels, ad management, one price. It is easy to sell because it sounds like a lot of work for the money.

The problem is that it might be the wrong work. If your ad account is leaking money on a badly built campaign, another six posts a week will not fix it. If your profile does not say what city you are in, more reach will not help you. The audit is how we find out which problem you actually have before you pay anybody to solve the wrong one.

Common questions

Is the audit really free?

Yes. There is no fee and no obligation to hire us afterwards. We ask for view access to your accounts, we look, and we tell you what we see.

How long does it take?

Usually within a week. If your ad account is large it can take a little longer, because working through campaign history properly takes time.

What access do you need?

View access to your social profiles and, if relevant, your ad account and analytics. We do not need your password. Every platform lets you grant access without sharing login details, and we will show you how.

What if my accounts are a mess?

That is the normal situation, not the exception. Nobody sends us tidy accounts. A mess is easier to improve than something already well optimised.
